Belice earthquake

In the night between 14 and 15 January 1968, a violent earthquake measuring 6.4 Ricther scale, hit our area with the epicenter in Valle del Belice. Among the 14 municipalities interested in the most affected were Gibellina Salaparuta, and Poggioreale Montevago. The victims were 370, a thousand people injured and some 70,000 homeless people.
